BRING ON THE SNOW!!!
The forecast models keep looking better and better! (And by better I mean more likely for an epic blizzard to occur). A major upper-level trough is deepening across the lee of the rocky mountains, and that combined with a subtropical jetstreak just to the east will provide the upper-level support for a major system to develop in Northern Texas that will track across Oklahoma, Missouri, and...

Day 30 - Anything you want to post about: The...
Welp, this month sure went by fast, and I have completed the challenge. Let’s have some fun with this last post.
This is what I like to call, The Deal-Breaker List. What it is, is pretty much self explanatory. If a girl has any certain attributes that are part of this deal-breaker list, I could simply never date them. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I think less of them as a person...

Day 29 - Ten life goals
I’m a day late again. My bad.
1. Get married and have kids
2. Visit all 7 continents (yes, including Antarctica)
3. Win a nobel prize in science for some breakthrough weather research… Ok, this one might be a bit of a stretch
4. Change somebody’s life with a selfless act
5. Get good enough at snowboarding to be able to compete
6. Fly through the eye of a hurricane...

Day 28 - Career goals
1. Earn a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology
2. Earn a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science
3. Earn a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science
4. Incorporate Storm Chasing into my research
5. Get the chance to fly through the eye of a hurricane.
6. Publish a paper that provides breakthrough knowledge in Meteorology.
7. Have a job that can support a family but won’t take time away from...

Day 27 - College you are attending or want to...
I recently earned my Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) and I am now working on a Master’s in Atmospheric Science at the University of Kansas.
Once I graduate, I plan on earning my Ph.D. KU doesn’t offer a doctorate in Atmospheric Science, so I will for sure be moving on. My considerations so far include, but are certainly not limited to, Texas...

Day 26 - Favorite book
You don’t need to know me for very long to figure out that reading is one of my least favorite hobbies. Strangely though, I love writing. Does that make me a hypocrite? It’s kinda like enjoying to talk but never wanting to listen to people. Maybe it’s just my attention span for literature though. When it comes to nonfiction, especially science journalism, I can read that stuff...

Day 25 - Favorite stores to buy clothes from
I dunno if I really have one. My wardrobe ranges from stuff bought at Academy to stuff bought at Pac Sun to stuff bought at Old Navy, and so forth. Most of my clothing however, is usually something I got from my school or from an organization I was in.

Day 24 - If you could change your first name, what...
If I had to change my first name, I would change it to Harrold. Then I would be Harrold Ramsey Bishop IV. I am still named after my great grandfather, however. Prescott was my dad’s mom’s father.

Top 49 Meteorology Blogs
Meteorology is the study of weather. It shows us what’s coming and when and serves as a guide for natural disasters. In recent years, meteorology has become significant because it shows us the effects of global warming. The blogs listed on engineering degree online blog will help you better understand the world we’re living in and help you prepare for...

Day 23 - Five people you are annoyed with right...
Well, I’m usually not one to be passive aggressive. If I have a problem with someone, I’ll generally keep it to myself, but if it’s serious enough, I’ll be direct and say whatever I need to say to their face. I won’t say anything too harsh, but I guess today though, I’ll let my California nature surface, and I’ll gossip about some bitches. :)

Day 21 - Person you can’t live without
Dangit! I didn’t finish this in time, so it’s a day late. Oh welz.
Two people I can live without are my mom and dad. Even though I don’t live near them, they are still an important part of my life, and they have gotten me to where I am now.

Day 22 - Anything you want to post about
Aside from doing meteorology, one of the other careers I’ve considered is stand-up comedy. I’m glad I decided to choose the more steady path, but I often still think about putting a routine together and preforming somewhere. Stand-up comedy is my favorite form of art, and my inspiration comes from a variety of different comedians, and these clips below are my all-time favorites.

Day 20 - Five people you are happy with right now...
This was wayyyy to difficult to narrow down to 5 people, so I clumped a few together.
1. You are my best friend. You basically made me the person that I am, and I couldn’t be happier. Even though we only communicate with each other about once a month these days, I still feel just as close to you as ever, and when we talked the other day, it was great catching up with you. Although I hope...

Day 19 - Random fact about you
I am ridiculously ticklish. Like everywhere on my body. Even my arms, which is kinda weird. I don’t tell very many people that, because I hate being tickled, but I’m assuming my tumblr followers aren’t out to get me.

Possible California Superstorm?
My friend showed me a yahoo.com article from earlier today that had a pretty gloomy outlook for the Golden State. They warned of the rising potential for a torrential winter storm to flood the entire central valley as well as cause problems along the heavily populated coastal regions. After reading it more closely, however, it’s clear that they’re just trying to scare people.

Day 17 - Favorite genre of movies
Comedy. Hands downs. Especially stupid comedies. I like shallow movies that don’t make you think. Real life gives me enough to think and worry about as it is. There’s no reason for my means of escapism to be doing the same thing.
Here’s a clip from my favorite. :)

Day 16 - What did you want to be as a child
When I was little, I had an obsession with snakes and wanted to be one when I grew up.
As a child, your teachers tell you never to give up on your dreams, no matter how many people doubt you…I think this may have been an exception to that rule.

Urban Dictionary can suck it.
My definition for “Slappa Da Bag” got rejected. :(
Slappa Da Bag: A drinking game in which a bag of wine is removed from its box. While others are slapping the bag, one person puts their mouth directly on the spigot and chugs for as long as possible.
“Let’s get some Franzia and play Slappa Da Bag!”
It’s a real game! We play it in Texas! Rat bastard...

Day 14 - Something you’re addicted to
Peanut butter and chocolate…And don’t even get me started about when the two of them are put together.
If I have either of the two items in front of me, I physically cannot stop eating it. I can resist buying them from the store, so thankfully I don’t have to worry about this very often, but if a roommate or someone else in the family brings some home, watch out. I lack the will...

Guthrie, OK
Posted up in Oklahoma for the night. The drive from my home in Canyon Lake, TX was nearly 8 hours. Still got about 5 more hours tomorrow to get to Lawrence, KS. My butt hurts from sitting in the car so much. owwwww.
Interesting things that have happened on the road trip so far:
Saw a little kid sitting on the center divide of I-35 in the middle of Oklahoma City. His mom was parked across the...

Tomorrow
A new chapter in my life begins.
Texas A&M, you have been everything I could have dreamed of and then some. I will forever wear my Aggie ring proudly. Leaving is difficult, and the drive is long, but I know that there are bigger and better things to come. Next stop, graduate school. Kansas or Bust!!!

Astrology: A science rant, and then something cool...
My birthday is on March 3rd, and for my entire life, I thought my zodiac sign was Pisces, but thanks to a recent article from a Minneapolis Star Tribune article, and not so recent scientific findings, I am now an Aquarius.
This is a change that, for me, means absolutely nothing.
But for the people who are dumb enough to be interested in astrology (or God forbid even believe in it), not only have...
